Because of the COVID-19 situation, effective Mar-18th, Olbrich Gardens has suspended all public access and any scheduled classes or meetings … no date for resumption of activities has been determined yet.
therefore we WILL NOT have a meeting of the Badger Bonsai Society on
Thursday May-14-2020.
Similarly, the Annual Show of the Badger Bonsai Society originally scheduled
for May 16 and May-17-2020 has been canceled.
Agenda of May activity (you need to do this on your own):
- if you did not have a chance to participate yet in our April-activity, the deadline has been extended to May-28th … see a document to allow you to rank the Japanese collection of the National Bonsai Museum.
- on-line slide show of Derek’s recent visit to Omiya Bonsai Village in Japan …
hopefully with Derek’s narration or commentary included … is going to be deferred to June meeting or website posting - have you reviewed any favorite blogs and videos that are bonsai-related … let us know so we can compile your favorites for collection on website
May-2020 BBS Newsletter … needs PDF reader
As an aside, the National Bonsai Foundation plans a series on activities
for World Bonsai Day, on Saturday May-9th.
Originally started to honor Bonsai Master Saburo Kato’s mission for peace through bonsai, World Bonsai Day is a cornerstone of the bonsai community. Perhaps more than ever before, this day finds meaning and necessity in our lives. To mark this occasion, the National Bonsai Foundation is preparing a plethora of festivities for you to experience online.
On May 9th, the National Bonsai Foundation homepage will be completely dedicated to all things #WorldBonsaiDay2020! Just visit www.bonsai-nbf.org and enjoy video greetings, special interviews, trivia, private collection tours and so much more!
Best and Safest wishes to all our members and followers !!!
